Laughing at your snake comment. And yeah - this length tri had me nearly hallucinating from bonking at the end when I didn’t stay fueled. Sounds like you just ran out of oomph a bit. Way to go - impressed with how you’ve managed to train for this with everything else going on!

I definitely thought of Anna when the lady mentioned the snake :)
I do *mostly* like the Olympic distance tris, long enough to be a decent challenge, but the training feels manageable, too. I don't think I've nailed the whole rest/nutrition aspect yet, though. Hopefully I'll figure it out by the end of the summer!

Woo - doing another one? I never got to do two in a season, that's awesome.

Going to try to do a whole series- one next month, one in June, then either late August or September (taking July off for vacation and O-France). There's another race in early October at the same venue/course as last week, which could be a fun apples to apples comparison.

Very nice. Ft. Lewis used to run a sprint in June and July and then an Olympic in August. I never quite felt ready for the Olympic until August, anyway. Where you are, fall sounds like much more pleasant weather, though...
