kupackman: Yeah, I pretty much ran the perfect race, too. I'm curious where your 10-second mistakes were and where the map was a little incorrect.

I lost a few seconds here and there on micro-route choice (#6, 9, and 12, maybe #2 also, but I'll have to check it out). My biggest time loss was probably at #8. I was approaching the circle and starting to look for the flag, and then this lost girl asked me where we were. I lost focus, but kept moving to her. When I was ready to go again, I had over-run the control, and I blurted out something. I turned and looked over my shoulder and there it was.

I saw a bumper sticker on a car this week that said something like "rosch + i" on it. It also had another sticker on it that referred to something else Swiss. What does roschi mean? I just thought it was your AP handle, but it's appears to be something else...

roschi: actually now that i just saw the splits i have to take it back.. it was only the one mismapped area from 12-13, where it was not dark green getting to it from the burke... glen ran it straight in 103 and i took the road up like you are supposed to if its dark green from the other side, and it took me 119... ironically the 16 seconds i lost to him at the end! one could argue it would have taken me 104 or 105 running the same distance, but i would have still beaten peteris... :), anyhow the other "mistake" i thought was going from 9 to 10... i ran via the fountain the suzhallo library and glen and eric ran through the green down via benson hall up to the UW entrance... after the race all three of us though their way was faster but clearly it was not,... i was only 4 seconds slower than eric and 16 sec faster than glen...
oh, and about roschi... its a diminuitiv of roger, my friend mike eglin who got me into attackpoint calls me that, and his AP name is mikee, so i figured it was a good name :) anyhow i am not sure what the roschi and i was.. maybe i am becoming famous :)

kupackman: whoa, i just saw them, too.

i lost 20 seconds from 8-9 (the leg that we've been discussing over on eric's log).

i don't know how i lost that time there. i must have just punched before that girl asked for my help, not after. because my 7-8 time was about right (16th place).

weird about that bumper sticker. it definitely said "rosch + i", because at first, I thought it was "roschti", but the t was actually a +.

I should get a bumper sticker like that. I wanna be a Roger groupie!

roschi: yeah i ll sell the roger groupie bumper stickers for 500$ a sticker online soon :)
i am bummed i will miss bridal trails and the rest of the season, but at least i get to do the duathlon at st. eds again, such a classic!

kupackman: Wow, you'll miss the rest of the season? bummer. What will you be doing?

I'm gonna miss the one in Olympia because I'll be orienteering in San Diego, and I'll miss the Winter Champs while I'm at Western US Champs in Arizona. I'm fortunate that I can barely get my 4 races in for the series points (I'd better not mispunch!).

I'll see at St. Ed's... but not on a bike. That'd be a disaster for me!
