Thanks... he had a rare form of dementia and was pretty good until just a few weeks before he died. He was an artist and scientist with a Ph.D in biochemistry...

My dad has some sort of dementia, loss of clear thinking, whatever you want to call it. He did level off in the last year and is ok...in fact he answered the phone a couple of times and his voice sounded completely normal, but he mixes things up and he gets upset over imagined 'things'. He got in in his head Dirk's boy, Kader, was farming in a way Dad did not approve of...mom and I could not get it into his head that Kade was not doing anything like what he/Dad thought.

Impressive that he was both an artist and had a PhD in such a complex subject!
