A quick and dirty map for you to play with (large file 38MB).

Should be properly oriented to magnetic N
Grid spacing is 500m
"form lines" are 1m contours
totally guessing on trails - small vs regular - some might not really be there.
most of the houses on the periphery translate to dot knoll in the software
should be enough roads etc to figure out your entry points.

Looks pretty good. Any chance you could send me that as an .OCD so that I can more easily scale and crop it the way I want? There are also a few contours that are in a different color, are they depressions? I think all of the trails shown are probably there, and there are a few others as well. This has the potential to be a usable map maybe sooner than imagined.

OOM can export to OCAD, but I've never checked the resulting file. There are a few errors that get thrown in the export process, but I don't think any of them are fatal. I'll try to run that a little later.. I'll drop an OOM format file as well.

OOM is fine as well. Just something that increases the flexibility.

Dropped a bunch of stuff here - http://florawww.eeb.uconn.edu/clint/rattlesnake/

rattlensnake.omap is the map I exported to pdf.
rattlesnake.ocd - is the ocad export - no guarantees its valid.
main directory has some files that are templates in OOM.
And in the lidar directory are some of the output files - the contours.dxf were imported to the OOM file, I didn't play with the vegetation or cliff files. In previous maps I've imported the gifs as templates for vegetation.

Have fun...
