More mysterious is that the M21E was somewhat reasonable. 84mins could easily have become 90 with less pleasant weather, and you can't blame them for being cautious about that after the JK. But why the obviously super-short vet courses is a mystery. Perhaps they took mins/km from the 2016 JK?

BOC 19: M50, James Logue 48mins, 8.0km

it's a pity we didn't spend more time in the fields above Litton these were tricky last time (2015) though another stile would've been required

There are plenty of previous results to look at. Yorkshire Champs Sept 2015: Clive H 56 mins for 8.5km on the exact same area...

But, kudos to the organisers, all the stiles were doubled up so there was always a faster lane.
