I'm not quite following: what is the cause of the switch to MeOS?
Did they not consult with you? Can it be changed back?
It appears to be a unilateral decision (maybe just for some meets? not all? so I will have to have TWO processes?). And I still don't understand WHY, after asking multiple times.
Who is they? I ran e-punch for a few RMOC events last year including our national event, and am doing for the next RMOC event, and I only know how to use OE2010. I know of one person in the club who likes to use MeOS, but didn't realize it was now semi standard at our events.
The last thing RMOC should do is anything to discourage you from doing everything that you're currently doing!
Yep, that was one of my arguments -- that all (or most) of our e-punch helpers are only familiar with OE2010. I haven't gotten a clear answer about whether this is the new standard -- and I am 100% not willing (or able, time-wise) to manage two different processes for two different softwares. :-\
Thank you, Kris. :-) We all do a lot in our own little areas of specialty...but I barely keep up, so when something upsets my apple cart, it really sends me over the edge more than it should. I'm sure vmeyer can relate. ;-)
Stand your ground about what you will support. Part of volunteering is enjoying what you are doing. When it becomes a pain on the ass, then you need to take a stand.
Seems to me there ought to be one person whose opinion counts more than everybody else's combined in this situation. And I think she should just inform "they" that MeOS isn't going to happen. Unless "they" want to take over an awful lot of administrative work.
“Registration information will be provided in xyz format and results need to be submitted in zyx format. What you do in between is up to you. “
Thank you all for the feedback and support.
Anybody makes Brooke cry, we'll round up a posse and give 'em a thrashing.
Ha ha, J-J! It was just my own frustration boiling over.
