Sandy:
I so sympathize with this. I imagine if you had tried running it would have worked them into even more of a frenzy.

Yes, scary - you handled it well. Be safe.
Not so close, but had similar incident on STL city street last week. Small white dog was unleashed on porch, started snarling. Usually once I get past its yard, a dog is okay, but this one snarled as it followed me (at 10-15 feet away) for a couple lots. I walked backwards, saying "NO" and stomping my feet -- no effect. Owner came out, dog ignored her. I threw wet newspaper at it -- no effect but finally stopped following. At least, except in parks, unleashed dogs are pretty rare on STL streets these days.

Did either of these dogs have a square head?

Ricka:
Not mine.

Wow, a Mook sighting! So rare! That got my heart racing more than the dogs!

Sandy, I agree. Running was not an option.
Ricka: glad you were safe too.

As to the square head: I never quite understood that description. I guess the white dog's head was more square than pointed, but I wouldn't say it was particularly square.

I'm with Cristina.
Though a few are cute, at least. (puppies)
