Any new shoes would have on that gradient, was a poor choice from me to run in them. Shoes themselves were great

I remember when I was 12 and my dad would buy me Walsh’s as they were the cheapest shoes at ultrasport but then I got decent at oing so my dad forked out on a pair of shoes that didn’t fuck me with blisters after every race...least they’re free though.

The Jebby approach: weld a pair of Walsh soles on to a comfy pair of (sponsored) Scott trail shoes. (Just pulling your leg. 2 days off a week are what my 'comeback' is being built on. That and cheese and beer. It's like a Fishwick approach but with fewer visits to the GUM clinic)

Well to be honest, for me, they work. They fit my feet and I haven't had any other problems with them. Any new shoes would have been a problem that night, warm evening, steep race. I wouldn't wear them if I thought they would negatively impact my training or racing
