That’s what was going through my mind the whole time I was reading this. So stressful and I wasn’t the one racing! You have to be SO on your game every second of these races. Well done. :)

I can imagine the technical sections being much more demanding with a gang of tandems than with regular bikes. I certainly wouldn’t want to be in a gang of recumbents through the tricky stuff.

This is the learning season for you and Robbie. At least in my mind.

Bash, yes exactly. You have to be completely switched on the entire time. It actually makes eating or drinking a bit of a challenge. There was only 2 short spots where that was possible. I had to hope no one attacked and be ready to drop my fuel if they did. I think I went through less than one bottle and ate one fig + one stinger (but not actually stinger a Belgium brand) waffle
