It looks like the map has an elevation difference of about 1200m.
Oh and the others aren't really freaks, just portrayed by people to appear that way for various reasons, either because they want them to appear unbeatable for their own self interest or the want them to appear unbeatable so they have an excuse for not putting in the effort to be competitive with them.
Plus in the end everyone has different priorities there are plenty of other things in life than racing.
