Is there routegadget, splitsbrowser stuff for these races?
Sounds typical scandi to me - go training in the nicer stuff, race in the shitter/more varied stuff.
Just like the UK their veg mapping isn't reliable and is generalised - coping with this and temporary loss of position will be crucial to coping with the big races.
Look at your time losses - would safer routes have taken longer but gained time where you missed?
Great experience all round btw.

There is 2d rerun and winsplits for these races which I’ve already been using. I think your right about the veg- certainly the 2 areas we went training in on fri/sat were super clean and the forest was mostly grot!
The weekend defo gave me a lot to think about for next month, particularly to do with routechoice, which can vary depending on contours/veg.

Very true- there was one of the controls in the long where ignoring the rides and veg made it into a pretty simple leg
