We received a uniquely Scandinavian request from the RD of Nordic Islands AR....we are all required to have "helicopter insurance." I assume it's for medical extractions and not in case I crash my Huey.
Anyone have any ideas or leads on this type of insurance?
I'm pretty sure helicopter rescues were covered under the World Nomads policy we got for Expedition Alaska.
I’ve needed it for a few Euro events. It’s standard in my travel insurance policy so check with your company before you buy something extra.
My Canadian policy will be different but you could check what Allianz Travel Insurance offers in the U.S. I googled and saw that “many” of their policies include medical evacuation, which includes helicopter. I pay under $100 Canadian for a full year of travel coverage. I learned about this policy from an adventure racer who broke his hip in Europe and had an extended stay including surgery, so it’s been tested.
Thanks all! I knew this would be the right crowd for this question :)
