my hamstring is well beyond electric tingle to outright tenderness and pain . . . definite large tear; I might be out for the summer as far as velodrome racing; well, cyclocross starts in the fall; my goals get pushed further and further away. I should start training for senior games 2020. haha

seems like a fertile topic for research . . . injuries in senior elite athletes . . . track the volume and intensity of workouts and see how that predicts injury of what type. I've heard masters athletes (40+ ?) should train for three weeks and take the 4th week as rest, meaning just maintenance work, for me that could mean no racing and just bike commutes, no HIIT workout. I have not really taken that pattern to heart, but it would likely save me from these catastrophic sudden injuries; the minute before the injury I would have described myself as "in a good place" fitness and injury wise, able to race and train at the max . . . then "BANG", the entire summer race plans . . . down the drain.
