That's great news. Reading your assessment of how it went, are you also going to work on ankle strength & balance? It sounds as if improving those will increase your speed in terrain.
3 mins a day could make a big difference (e.g. the OUOC circuits exercises of balancing on one leg with your eyes closed (& optionally writing the alphabet with your free foot) & Rune's dips). Even better doing it 3 times a day...
