I'm sorry to hear of your sudden illness. Hope your strong constitution washes that out by Saturday morning at 6am.

I've biked, skied and hiked all over that terrain above Leadville, and below Mosquito Pass when Orlyn lived there. Very rugged. And as you're probably aware, old mining tailings and dust kicked up by the winds can contain heavy metals.

I’m much more likely to die from getting run over than heavy metal poisoning. But, you are right, this place is an environmental nightmare.

Well from your Facebook page, it looks like you're in Leadville and determined to start this morning. The picture of the Presidential Range covered in snow in July is amazing!

I hope you're feeling better. Good luck.

Congratulations for finishing a very tough race in 12:49:16! 43rd in 50-59, and by my count, 12th in 55-59. Considering how you felt on Thursday at 5100', don't know how you kept it together for 12+ hours at 12 000'.

Now please ice those quads!

I’m still trying to decide if that’s my worst run ever. I think the 93 Chicago Marathon has it beat, but not by much.
