Can think of plenty of talented footballers over the years who have lasted until the back end of the draft (or the rookie draft) because clubs have been scared off by junior injuries, and have turned out to be very good players.
As far as I know, my old school has produced exactly one AFL player (Josh Bruce), although it has produced a number of Wallabies.
Rugby is a lot bigger over east than AFL here, Basketball and Athletics have a bigger cultural impact than Rugby. I guess the collapse of the Western Force could explain this. Producing numerous Wallabies is more respectable than producing those like Sam Taylor, Stephen Coniglio and Possibly Luke Taylor, Riley Garcia, and Max Chipper. Probably as you see this will be the last you hear of one of these people (s) names, but others you will remember.
