Wow! Outstanding! Very nice run. Glad you felt strong and fast on the run-in. Were you running head-to-head with anyone you recognized (presumably a Swede), heading in to the GO control? Always nice to physically nose-out competition in the heat of 'battle.'

It quite head to head. I saw Phil Bricker on the run-in, but he was nursing a sore hamstring and on a different course. The gu who started one minute behind me, a Swiss, beat me for the day by 13 seconds by finishing 47 seconds behind me, but said he never saw me on the course.

The day before I had a head-to-head experience. A guy darted in front of me to punch ahead at the go control, but then in the chute he was slow enough that I tried to pass on the right, but he moved right to block me, then I tried to pass on the left, but he blocked again, so went to pass on the right and when he blocked me the third time I gave him a very satisfying shove as I passed him. He then shouted and went sprinting past. I didn’t care if I finished before or after him, just wanted my running lane. Not sure what his point was.

I think I'd be inclined to bellow, or holler some nonsense. Might make him either move over or speed up. Like honking a horn.

I dunno, the hockey check was really satisfying.

What's the point of building rowing muscles if you don't put them to some useful purpose now and then?

And, if you are ever coming up fast behind me and need some space to get by, I promise to yield without you needing to shove me aside. ; )
