I don't think that should be the case if no-one but the setters has access to the new start lists and I certainly wouldn't have accepted it. Should have enforced the Eventor list and requested a punch start. Why were there even late entrants mucking up the start draw?

I think they accepted lots of late entrants because entry numbers were low (64) at close of entries. A number of people got caught out unaware of the need to pre-enter / entry deadline, but there are also a lot of people away at this time of year which I'm sure added to the low numbers.
I think Richard was doing all member emails last year prompting people to enter early and late in the entry period for pre-entry events which probably helped people get organised on time. This time as far as I was aware there was one email sent just before entries closed.
There was a punch start and I guess I could have made a stand and gone later. Some people had to do this as they just were not ready when their start time passed. Felt for the organisers though, I don't think they knew they had a different start list to what was otherwise advertised until after they had got starts underway.

Yes I did send All Members emails to personalise and promote the major events, OWA Dinner etc.

While Enews, Eventor and the website are important communication tools the occasional message from the President or other council person is likely to be read whereas some other messages can get lost. These messages were timed to work in with the other messages sent through the various other media by Nicole.

OWA does need a Promotion Convenor to create a consistent set of messages.
