I have enlarged protrate...BUT it is 'smooth' not rough so that's a good sign no cancer. If it is enlarged only there is medication that takes about 6 months to shrink it down. I'll do a cat scan next. I may have a large stone that needs to be lasered...once Cat is done then the doc will use a camera inserted up the Male Urine Release Apparatus (MURA...I need to patent this acronym...haha) to look for any problems within bladder AND at the same time he can laser the stone IF I have one and that is what is causing the blood. And of course the camera insertion procedure is not only painless but fun. No jokes...please.

It is easier for an enlarged prostate to be distressed and you will have symptoms of blood and even 'debris' that in and of itself is 'OK'. Of course this is my own non-medical summary of what I understood...probably the Doc was trying to tell me I have 3 weeks to live.

Thanks. What is as bothersome now are the heat headaches I'm getting 2-3 times a month...usually by now I'm adjusted/adapted to the heat...and the ache that has returned in my chest/left arm at beginning of runs. It never completely went away but once I changed my diet (as much as I could stand...berries, fruit in morning, cutting out as much high fructose sugar as possible...coke with regular sugar only and about 1/4 as much intake as in past...more veggies although nothing like your diet) the ache decreased a lot.

I'm pretty sure my heart is not nearly as strong as it used to be but also that the further into a workout I go the more it starts working more efficiently (and stops aching) as my pace increases.

I have several medical papers to be published...I'm sure to win many awards and shave centuries off medical research advances. Also I've always had the idea I will live to be 120...or more.

Thanks...
Now Jay's mom died :(
Poor guy...

Re enlarged prostate... I suffered for years from this. Apparently that is what caused the very elevated PSA's over the years.
I had a procedure last year called a PAE in which they inserted tiny beads at the points where blood vessels go into the prostate. It cuts off most blood supply to the prostate and then it shrinks.
It worked immediately! PSA dropped from 19 to 1.8 in a few weeks, and all bad urinary symptoms disappeared. I'm like an 18 yr old again!

Do NOT get the ream job if you can avoid it. Bad side affects from what I hear.

Do you mean the camera/laser 'inspection'? My dad had the 'regular' prostate surgery and I'm not at all impressed with how it turned out. He stopped farming and basically gave up on life within in a few years. Now to be honest (now days everyone says transparent...blah) he has Alzheimer's/dementia issues but even that seems to be tied to not engaging his body and brain enough. He can...he started up reading again even with bad eyesight...and he helped my mom once clear yard debris but mostly he lays around.

I'll google stuff on PAE...

I thought I remembered you had said your PSA was some ridiculous number and wondered if I my memory was off or you had a typo you missed. 19...that's like saying your heartbeat is 250. On the other hand they had me do a urine sample...I did a 5 mile workout and finished 3 hours or so before doc visit. Sweated like mad of course. I drank out the wazoo...as I left I still wondered if I could produce urine...halfway to doc's office it began to be 'clear' to me I would be able to provide a sample. By the time I got to the doc's office inside I had to go bad...I did even before they called me...right away of course but I gave a sample no problems at all. Within 5 minutes I told the nurse I had to go again but she had to do her thing and have the doc come in.

She did a sonogram type test and aid after giving a sample bladder contents should measure 150 mm or less...I was at 291...of course I knew that...I had to go BADDDDDDDDDD. The doc let me after another 5 minutes...but I was 5 seconds from saying I was a big boy and would go when I had to go...last night was first time that I barely had to go during night...but the side effects of this Flomax stuff I'm not sure about...and I don't know if he wants me to take it forever...

19!!! Holy moly. My 291 AFTER peeing twice within ten minutes was a pretty negative impressive number when compared to 150...but 19 is like 4 or 5 times higher than the bad numbers start. I'm under 4 now and was around 5 at my worse.

The test the doc wants to do after the Cat Scan is a Cystoscopy...is that what you were referring to. It does not sound pleasant which I thought about long before this after googling things. I checked the PAE and it looks like a option I'll mention to the doc.

The bad treatment for BPA is called TURP. They basically ream out excess prostate tissue surgically.
