Yes, Esperance Footy Club had a very skillful demographic of players, I remember their home ground just the other side of the railway tracks. The leisure centre I used to work at was in a direct desire-line between that suburb and public buildings in the town.

One of the few clear memories I have of our 1977 trip across the Nullarbor (when I was six) was turning up at the Gibson Soak, where we were intending to stay, at the same time as a very well-lubricated cricket club (not that I understood the well-lubricated bit at that age).
