Robin:
Did everyone just take the same route to the arena as us any way and see screen with tracking?

Yeah, that was weird, because I ended up in the arena and thought I must have followed the wrong streamers, but thankfully Paul Pacque saw me looking confused and pointed through the crowd, towards the start...

Bringing people into the arena to start is a common set-up in major international events, but not one a lot of the competitors here would have been used to.

Yes I know starting in the arena is used commonly. More about the route in this event to the start in the arena confused people. And the start was not that obvious as Jenny notes.

Event info has been a bit patchy, like nowhere in the bulletin did it say that today's walk to the start involved nearly 100m climb, or how long it would take. And if there was water at the finish as promised, I certainly never saw it!

It may be common to start in the arena, but usually there's at least some effort to keep you separate from the crowds/make it obvious where to go ;)

(Also sympathise with missing your frieds in the arena. As last start, the screen and results were taken down as soon as I finished. And by the time I warmed down it was only my car load and organisers left!)

Guess everyone had headed off to watch the AFL Grand Final...

I haven’t seen you at any of the events! Are you coming to Beechworth?
