I forgot about that! We had a white jeep follow us up the access road and over the ditch, and then get out with beers in hand and try to start a conversation. They were rather aggressive and we weren't comfortable leaving our bikes there to get the CP, so we continued on and returned to it at the end of the section. Wonder if it was the same guys.

The guys that stopped us were in a camo quad. Totally creeped me out. Spidey sense was on overload.

Yeah, ours, too. Jim at first suggested that Karyn and I go up for the CP and he stay with the bikes, but none of us liked the idea of splitting up in their presence.

Sounds like it may have been a different crew.

What kind of beer were they offering?
In all seriousness, feeling hassled/unsafe due to guys in jeeps/quads isn't the kind of adventure most people signed up for.
Glad you all made smart decisions.
Planning for adventuring includes
what to do in case of: serious injury, severe weather, aggressive wildlife, drunk people on motorized vehicles....

Seriously! Another group asked me if we were "going to party up there" --yeah a bike party perhaps?

And they were drinking domestic big brand light beer, that's when I knew they were for sure not worth hanging out with. LOL

Great job!

I remember a rogaine where a property owner was telling teams he had a gun and they shouldn't continue up the road he lived on. These are the not-so-fun aspects of adventuring.
