Yes it is tough when you're passed by transit and have to wait another 30-60 minutes. With my cross-country skis over my shoulder, I was passed in the middle of January, even while waving frantically in the middle of the day! Were you at a signed Bus Stop?

The Chicago area has instituted a policy that suburban and rural buses will only stop at 'Posted Stops.' Which is a pain, since it often means walking half a mile or more along very busy country roads with no shoulder or sidewalk, to the 'posted' bus stop. Sounds like St Louis isn't so strict. Pretty nice that your buses will stop anywhere, if you can just make yourself visible.

Yes, it was a posted stop (ours are much closer together than that). The bus driver obviously knew they could get in trouble for it or they wouldn't have offered the free fare. I took the offer, but would never report something like that unless it was systemic. Everybody makes mistakes.
