What airline were you on? United gave out a $50 travel voucher after my aborted takeoff a few months ago...which was maybe worth the few minutes that scary experience took off of my lifespan. ;-)
United. I thought about that. Then I just thought.....I'm just happy the pilot has good judgement. That right there is a life voucher. Or a voucher for life. Apparently a microchip monitoring an engine had fried. Don't know what happened to the passenger, but he was in distress. Then that cold front came through and had to be de-iced for 20 mins. Didn't realise Denver was such a stressful place Brooke.
Yeah, I was also very glad & grateful for the pilot's competence! (In fact, I sent a complimentary email about that...)
United seemed to be going out of their way to smooth things over that day (lots of status-update texts, a couple of apologetic emails, and then the voucher -- which I didn't ask for, they just offered it in one of the emails).
The delay wasn't any big deal to me (it was a work trip, so I would have been 100% A-OK if the flight had been cancelled entirely!), but it sounded like some people would be missing international connections...bummer for them.
Yay, we all lived to fly another day (hopefully including the guy on your flight with the medical emergency...).
