For the sake of your walls. Sounds like a nasty bug. :(

Haha, thanks. Walls are safe! Face and head started hurting again last night so I took some vitamin-I and Airborne, used some nasal spray thing, drank a lot of water, and then slept 10 hours, and now I feel like a functional human being. Not exactly energetic, but at least 14.7x better than I had anticipated.

Good to hear!

Update: energy level very low. I walked Lukas to school (300m), cleared leaves out of the scuppers on the roof (one flight of stairs, one small fence to climb), then walked back home (300m) and felt completely tuckered out. Germs are the worst!

Poor you! Are you still coming to the Possum Trot? You can follow someone around the course ;)

I am focusing all of my energy on recovering properly and quickly so that I can make it to the Possum Trot!

Feeling very lucky right now that Lukas pleaded with me to go out on a course with him instead of going out on my own on Sunday. I really didn't feel up for running a course (definitely a sign, especially since the woods looked gorgeous!) and going out with Lukas seemed like the perfect excuse. Running probably would have made this all much worse!

Convey to that virus in the strongest possible terms: "I have possum socks to win!"

Possum socks? This is the first I've heard of them.

That's because they're only available from the deepest reaches of the dark web (possums are nocturnal). Hand-knit by possums. Unfortunately, since they have terrible color vision the patterns are often... creative.

Ah, okay then. Get well so you can race!

At a local trail race everyone received socks from the Sock Guy. The designs are knitted in (presumably by automated machines) and not printed on the sock material.

They are *very* comfortable and sturdy (ankle length; I use them when biking). I'd recommend them to anyone looking for custom socks.

I'd like to see a pair of possum socks. :-)

I suspect possum socks are probably available in New Zealand. (In that part of the world possums are regarded as a vile pest imported from the other side of the Tasman Sea, and doing anything to remove them from the landscape is considered to be a public service).

Oh, oh, please let me be the first to say that in NZ you can even buy possum fur "nipple warmers"!

Don't be confused though, there are no possums in North America. Just opossums with a nickname.

Yeah, it's sort of like the elk/moose thing. Possums are certainly cuter than opossums, so it's not surprising that the latter get called possum all the time.

I have a pair of possum socks (from NZ). They are awesome - very soft and warm.

(Possums - New Zealand's furry little speed bumps!)
