Discussion: Elite budget

Had some fairly lengthy conversations with Lars on this subject whilst we were waiting for things to be sorted out around the jury in China. Rather envious of the resources they have.

Yeah it's very impressive and I think Lars has worked hard over many years to get it up to what it is. Interestingly though there's a fair bit of inequality with how the budget's distributed because a lot of it can only be spent on athletes with "a chance of a top 8 at world championships". So four runners each get 3months worth of altitude camps next year while the rest of the squad doesn't get a single overseas camp and I think it creates a bit of tension because the selections of who's deemed a top 8 chance are a little random.
