Which, now 25(ish) years later would translate into ....? Exactly what we see at major carnivals,
What has interested me is looking back over the 3 Day and Aus champ Results booklets dutifully published and posted and very eagerly read! post event... from late 80s and early 90s, who's still around and active.
Exactly - translates now into 65/70 - although it's become a bit less bulgy in recent years as time has caught up with some of them. These days at the Australian Championships carnivals, the largest classes are typically 16s, 55s, 60s, 65s and 70s with not a lot between them.
Something else I was thinking about is how many of those in the oldest classes (who would now be in their 90s) are still around - Hermann is the only one who is still orienteering but I suspect at least a few of the others are still alive.
