When did you become such a "good" liar?

Feels bad, man. A similar thing happened to me at the recent Nav-X in Tamarancho when a very irritated leader of a group of bikers stopped me on the course and threatened to call the rangers and yadda yadda because I and others were going off-trail. I explained we had a permit from the rangers but I still got a good 2-3 minute ecological lecture about how going off-trail hurts the enviroment...
