Happy BD to you, Jason Lee and Lee Trevino. Know you three will get together later today for big blow out and lots of golf talk.

I agree for you that running streaks are not good. You've been hurt every time you tried one.

For me my run/walk/exercise streak exists and to stop it just to stop it would be stupid. I'm balancing not getting rest with walking which is very close to same thing as a day you have with no running.

No philosophy is perfect no matter how you try to apply it or balance it. Life just is not that way.

I have to admit while you were kidding, the reference to me streaking/copying/not being like did kinda bug me.

I see Mo Farah is going back to track. There must have been something about his fast/slow twitch muscles that did not allow him to run that 2:00 marathon you would think he was capable of.

What's that? Did I say something?
"I have to admit while you were kidding, the reference to me streaking/copying/not being like"

Thanks for the bd wishes... and to hell with Lee Trevino; KENNY MOORE!

I can't believe I missed Kenny's bd after all these years. I was a fan of his writing including his book on Bill Bowerman of Oregon/which had big section on Pre. Must never have googled him. He was 76! Lee Trevino was 80. He was a great guy...super funny and smart.

I have my 3rd deposition since I retired. In 31 years of work had one. In 27 months of retirement 3. You feel pretty helpless that attorney's can drag you into things and you have to go along with them.

Purposely took the day off today, so I wouldn't become like you :)

That's one of those quotes on a media like this that can still be taken 'wrong'. I knew I was and admitted I knew you were kidding, but I kinda felt there was a bit of truth to it as far as being a nerk/geek/goofball/and definite oddball. One 'golf course' friend that I had not played with in about a year, although I saw him at the course, kidding blamed me for his terrible round two weeks ago when we finally played a round together again...he was kidding, but he was kinda mentally beat up and it stuck with me more than he intended.

Amazing run. Sorry about the calf. 8:47 with limping in...wow.

Thanks, (about the run) yeah I started off at about 9:30 pace for two+ miles and thought it would go worse. But there were some uphills there.
I am going to run my ONLY race of the year (!!!) in about 11 days. It's just a trail 5k and will be on snow, but it's an official race. Can't let a year go by without at least one. (that's my ocd I guess.)
Yeah, I was totally kidding. I actually really respect your incredible streak. I just don't want to "be that way" bc it interferes with my life with Julie. She feels bad when I have to miss, like in Haiti when I just could not safely run. Then she thinks it's her fault.

She's a sweetie pie for sure.

One streak I should have kept up was running a race a year. Once you stop its hard to get back into it. After taking off 3 years I ran a few races in 93-94 about 5 or so but then I had to go off to work a storm and I did not race again until July 4 a couple or 3 years later and then did not run again until 2010...ran 4 races...but after not racing much it's too easy to stop...and I just kept getting hurt every time I was close to being in shape to think about a race...but I could have slipped in a race no matter what.

Ice, heat and lots of luck.
