It’s Billygoat planning time! WCOC is pleased to host the 42nd annual Billygoat. Below is some preliminary info; more to follow.

Date: May 10, 2020

Fees: $30, minus $1 for each Billygoat shirt you’ve earned in the past, to a minimum of $0. By my count 7 people have earned 30 or more BG shirts, so they’ll pay $0, and everyone else will pay between $1 and $30. For the count of BG shirts earned as of 2018, see https://www.billygoat.org/statistics/honorroll.htm...

Fees for Juniors (20 or younger): $20, minus $1 per previous BG shirt earned.

Btw, to get the $1 per shirt discount, we’ll require you register by some date yet to be determined, probably a week or two before the event.

Location: Pond Mountain, near Kent, CT. The assembly/finish area will be the same location as for our NRE in fall 2018. Google maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/7X59uLBaky7s1aF3A

Head Goat/Course Setter: Niels Lyng-Olsen.
Meet Director: Rick DeWitt

We’ll follow up at some point with information on how to register, Pygmy Goat info, etc. But for now, mark your calendars. We hope to see your there.

Note that the Honor Roll that Rick linked to has not been updated to reflect the 2019 event yet (the new version has been compiled, but it's still working its way through the data mill). But for anyone doing budget planning, we'd hope that you can remember whether you finished the race last spring.

Ooh, great, I was thinking I'd have to pay $1!

We were having a fine time discussing this pricing option at the WCOC night-O' and dinner at Ratlum Mountain last weekend. I thought the starting point was going to be $40, so only Steve Tarry would get a free entry. Seems like the powers that be have made things even more participant friendly.

Pond Mountain is a very cool area. And Niels is a wonderful course setter. Looking forward to giving it a try.
