But it also sounds like me and I always tell myself it's just life as an adult with kids...

Haha, indeed, just another day in that special hell called “parenthood”.

I decided I should see a doctor but I need to register as a patient first, which has to be done by phone, and so far I have not made it past waiting on hold until the call drops. This is why people like me hardly ever go to the doctor.

Update: I got through and apparently have registered as a patient with a doctor who had appts earlier than the other available option - late January!

Went in today and they took lots of blood for many tests. I described my symptoms and the guy was like, "do you spend a lot of time outside...?" and I was like "oh shit yeah", and he was like, "yeah, this sounds like Lyme" and I had a really big sad because I hadn't even considered that. Awaiting results.

Don’t be sad. It’s an explanation, if that’s what it is, and treatable.

Sad because had Lyme been on my radar then I would have sought out treatment earlier, and the earlier the better. Also sad because if I can't even keep myself from getting it, how am I supposed to keep Lukas from getting it?

There are other possibilities so we'll see what all the tests say. Better Lyme than something completely unknown, that's for sure.

Well, good luck with it, whatever it is. I got tested for Lyme this fall because (a) Zack had it, and babesiosis too, (b) I get bit by ticks a lot and (c) I was feeling fairly dragged out. Anyway, I didn’t have it, which I thought wasn’t pretty miraculous. I suppose it did test positive for old age, though.

Shoot - sorry to hear.

There really needs to be a vaccine...

Charlie:
bubo is a gentle fellow, very low toxicity, not at all a good candidate for that club

There are vaccines that prevent old age, but you don't want them.
