Discussion: book!

when did you start writing it and what is it about and how is it going?

So I started writing it late last May (cause I figured doing 4 APs, two crazy math classes, and a bunch of other stuff still left over a lot of free time) and I'm about 70% (326 pages) done. It's a fiction novel about a kid named David whose late father was the head of a defense organization protecting a country from high-tech invaders called the Triumvirate. Basically, David gets introduced to a new organization called PHOENIX that fights against the Triumvirate using infiltration and other covert methods. Along the way, though, he loses a lot of his friends (one that was probably his main friend may or may not turn out to be on the Triumvirate's side) but also learns a lot of important life lessons from the agents in PHOENIX. Sorry if that doesn't really make sense, it's super hard to make a plot summary for a book that isn't based on a quest and also the plot summary doesn't really highlight the character interactions... but you asked what it is about, so hehe... :)

wow that's an impressive amount of writing! definitely sounds like something i would read. is it futuristic or is it based on present day?

It's slightly futuristic... there's tech that's similar to hyperspace in Star Wars except it's only used by regular aircraft here on Earth to cover short distances between cities faster... there's also a pretty complex use of nanotech particles for armor (not a great analogy but think Big hero 6).
