The gps feature would be useful in course setting. You just go out and hang controls in interesting locations, capture the position and the download creates the map with controls indicated. Much better than getting out there and finding your feature on the map doesn't really exist or is in the middle of a briar patch.

Oh boy Ed has thoughts.
I just like the idea of ALL THE BEEPING!!
Maybe sirens instead of beeping!
I especially like the IC-eating-a-button-cell-like-a-squid one! If you dump a bunch of components and batteries into a box and shake it, silicon-based life forms might spontaneously appear and begin to evolve.
You're going to force SIAir into encryption.
Something I've been looking into but haven't had the time to finish (you think 1 kid soaks up time, try 3!) is adding wireless charging to the current SI boxes, either by ghetto addition of a recharge coil or somehow having another mode that utilizes the already available coil in the box.
If you wanted to take that on I'd say it would be more than remotely useful.
That sounds pretty cool. Sounds like it would take a lot of parts though, but I’m not really sure how that works. My guess would be that doubling up on the existing coil would be tough, since messing with it too much would probably break the existing radio stuff.
