The other night, during OA Board meeting via Skype, Prue wanted to know who was making the panting noise in the background and I had to confess that it was Meatloaf, optimistically eyeing off my dinner!
"snorking"
canine verb: to pantwhine loudly and insistently and with increasing frequency and distress at the thought that food might pass you by or that more than 2.4 seconds have elapsed since you were last fed.
Ha ha. Now l know. I thought it was a Board member!
Well, since we are using TT's blog as a confessional - in the previous Board meeting, the annoying background noise was my ducted heating. I eventually turned it off.
Prue - using mine is fine. No one will ever know!
There is no possibility that I have ever vanished from an OA board meeting for a few minutes in order to take a shower...
(after running)
Or that l drank half a bottle of red wine.....
OA board meeting drinking game. I could imagine it!
Drink every time someone;
1) reminds the board they will not be returning to the role next year.
2) forgets to put themselves on mute.
3) interrupts
4) says sorry
5) asks " so who wants to (do something)"
6) says "it is what it is"
7) beats the OA President to the punchline
(or is that just my own personal goal?)
8) provides an up to date and in depth weather forecast. ( :P )
9) updates their AP (or makes a comment on someone else's trog) during the meeting
Someone's not returning to the OA Board this year, now who would that be?
Wow guys - thanks for letting me in on all the behind-the-scenes stuff. Even makes the possibility of applying for OA Board position really attractive - it would be interesting! - but I'd have to concentrate on actual happenings. Confession: one ONSW Board meeting when a Board member was on skype they went quiet - we thought a cup of coffee but then snoring sounds emerged. I got the giggles!
How funny. I was in a face to face board meeting once when one member started snoring. However, you just can't tell with Skype meetings, though l suspect this may have happened on the odd occasion. I do recall hearing a toilet flushing on another.
We may take you up on that *offer*. When l first got sick l was ready to resign there and then, but l now feel better and may battle on.
Oh Prue, we can't lose you - being on the Board has been more* fun since you came along!
*starting from a fairly low baseline level of fun, I will concede.
