What gig did you settle for?
I'm guessing pogie salesman.
Hahaha. Now that's funny.
I took a bit of a telling off from friends (and wife) for not taking the chauffeur job. But I'm a surveyor's assistant. (Which entails holding an Australian's pole....not normally my bag at all. But we're in 2020 so I thought I'd embrace the times we live in.)
It's really interesting. Not just the job itself, but you're out in the field chatting to locals about history and ongoing stuff in the community. E.G. What's going on with Town and Village's prospective hospital (which we're surveying for!). Or what's going on with Rico's sewer....which was going to be Denver before a silver crash!! At least I'm outside still.
Surveyor assisstant, I'd be that. It can be a good job.
I did "urban field work" for a few years (when I was still using my geology degree...). You'll definitely get to meet a lot of interesting characters. :-)
