Tom O:
I had not noticed the embolism issue in your log. Hope it is all behind you and you have a complete recovery. Yikes!

Sorry to hear of this and hope you recover quickly. Sound like a nasty set back.

Yes, it happened mid December. I am doing fine, but going to build up slowly. It seems like it had been brewing for a while. In mid June I had a deep tissue massage that really blew up my legs and impacted my running significantly. I did get it checked out, but clearly not enough tests. Then did a 1/2 marathon on Scotland in October between 2 distilleries in Speyside, I ran about 9 miles and fast walked the rest. The game plan being to finish. Then Nov / Dec I was lucky if I could manage 3-4 miles. Turns out they think a strong possibility was from blood clots in my legs from long flights. I typically wear compression socks on long flights but not always.
Clearly my wake up call! Mercifully they said overall I was in great shape including my heart, so should be back running and orienteering again in the near future.
