If you're trying to learn python I think that means something went down with your work situation and maybe you're not entirely happy about it. Lucky for you python is really awesome and easy to use. And you'll be staying with a pythonista in Tucson!

I have a mandate to not use SAS for any new development (huge eye roll...). Python is acceptable to the new boss -- even though fewer other people in my group know Python vs. SAS (1 vs. 3) and that was his purported reason for ditching SAS.

Whatever -- the company is paying for the Python class, and it certainly won't hurt to have it on my résumé while I see how things shake out under the new regime.

I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon for two-day re-education camp team meeting in Dallas. Jackhole-in-charge has scheduled team breakfasts, happy hours, and a dinner. He has a really over-inflated sense of how much some of us want to spend time with him outside of mandatory work hours.

But I *am* looking forward to hanging out with the pythonista & fam in Tucson! I will probably have online assignments & quizzes to do that week...
