Mr Wonderful:
We switched most of the tie up flags to clips/carabiners, which are more pleasant on wet / cold days than some super tight knot that stymies cold stiff fingers.

Plus I can't reliably tie easy to untie but secure knots so this dummies it up for me on the setting end as well.

Gorgeous pics as usual!

We've got a bird feeder that hangs on a string of two or three carabiners to get it down to an easier to reach level for re-filling. Turns out that gates can get pretty seriously frozen shut after the right amount of rain followed by a serious cold front. At home there is always the option of using a Bernzomatic to thaw them out! I can envision the possibility of wishing I had hung a control from a smaller branch if I were stuck trying to remove a frozen carabiner by cutting off the support with my pocket knife.
