Charlie:
I often get other people’s mail, generally just stick it back in the mailbox. In particular I often get my friend Tom’s mail. Can’t imagine why, as he has not only a different number, but a different street (Doyle Road). Always makes me wonder who might be getting my mail.

I could have done that, of course, and it would have alerted the letter carrier to the error so maybe he'd be more careful in the future. When this has happened before, it's always been the house around the corner (i.e. the next one on the route), clearly a case of letters sticking together, and I've just walked around the corner to put in in the right mailbox. In this case, it happened to be about the distance I wanted to run anyway, so I treated it as an opportunity.
