Thanks for sharing Hammer. Question, can one register for any course regardless of age? I'm nowhere near masters age yet but I'm not currently in shape to do a 20km ski-o course...

Not sure. I would just enter the long and do what you can. ;-)

It is going to pretty low-key I suspect.

It was very low-key last year - more like a training day. 'Bent and I are Masters but we've signed up for Open this year. We may as well get the maximum amount of fun from our $15 per race!

Update: Rather than set age/distance categories, there will be age categories within the distances. So for example, Masters skiers can do the Sunday Long course and Open skiers can do the Medium course. The organizer probably won’t have enough prizes for all categories so if you were planning to win something, it would be wise to enter the longer category.

All age groups will do the same Sprint course on Saturday.

On Sunday, there will be a Long course (Adults only) and a Medium course. I assume distances will be comparable to what Hammer mentioned above for the original age-based courses.

We’re just finishing up an online registration form since there has been so much interest.

Just a reminder... If you're planning to come, please register online. A number of people emailed Mark but haven't yet registered officially. Thanks!

Minor update:

The Sunday Long course will consist of two maps, each approximately 10 km. The Medium course will be one of these 10 km maps - a little shorter than originally planned (by popular request).

If anyone wants to change their course, please let me know.

Also, we've had a few questions about skate vs. classic. Although skate skiing is usually faster, classic skiers are welcome too, and we know several participants are planning to ski classic. It's a fun race so don't sweat it too much.
