That seems unusual, too.

Unusual to make my log, but not unusual for me to play with a dog. Most of the dog-references in my log are about scary, square-headed, dogs.

I had a vague impression that in your world, all dogs were scary, square-headed dogs. Like in Cristina's world, where they all have some other objectionable qualities. (In my world, they're all pretty much uninteresting.)

So, my dog is big, square-headed, and so friendly that she might knock you over and injure you. Not sure how that fits with your binary view of canines.

I think the key variable is "scary." A square-headed dog is more likely to be scary, but some square headed dogs are nice. I can't remember if I've ever met your dog.

As I think back, I've been bitten by several non-square headed dogs. But only once been bitten by a non-scary dog.

I think you met her predecessor who, also being a boxer, was big, square-headed, and so friendly that she might knock you over and injure you.

I don't think any of the dogs that have bitten me were scary. The prime factor seems to be owners who don't give a shit, and it could be that owners of scary dogs know that their dogs are scary and therefore take more care into making sure the dogs don't run around willy nilly biting people.

Not being familiar with square-headed dogs (as opposed to round-headed kids with dogs), I did a google search. Most of the photos are of small, un-intimidating dogs with bad haircuts. However, this Pointer was my favorite...complete with collar:
