How did it take you 20 hours to get to Portugal? Did you drive all the way?
Multi-choice choose Charlie's own adventure:
a) The trees he planted died unexpectedly, so he had to sail there to balance his carbon budget, battling the Dread Pirate Thunberg to get access to her most worthy speed pirate ship
b) He forgot his passport and had to go home to get it and catch a later flight (hi Heather)
c) It turns out the the UK is no longer in the EU and he had to spend 10 hours with the Portuguese authorities trying to buy a holiday visa.
d) He was kidnapped at the airport by Ferando Santos who wanted to hold him hostage until Nuno Espirito Santo gave him his soccer team back. Only after repeated viewings of Charlie's new beard did they accept that he wasn't in fact Nuno.
e) The French air traffic controllers were on strike (again) which meant flight delayed 2 hours. Lisbon airport closed overnight so diverted to Porto. 4 hours on a bus. Arrive Lisbon 5am. Hire car (when opened at 6am) won't give us the car we booked because it was booked for the previous evening. Only other one available was 500€. Decided to use public transport. Next train at 10am. Arrive 1130am, 20 hours after leaving home.
That's not bad, but it sounds a bit contrived compared to mine.
Have a good POM
I think they should make it into a film. Charlie can be played by Steve Martin.
