Wow! 5:30 pace for 5k! Even one mile thats good...2 miles really good so for 3 plus miles that is something!
...and roughly 5:13's for almost two miles!
After running along at 11 min plus pace and it feeling like 6:45 effort 5:13 and 5:30 pace can best be summed up again as I did above.....!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the OC guys ran 16:30 and placed second in a Div 2 race or maybe it was a heat. There was a really good female basketball player (all kinds of conference scoring records...super 3 point shooter) that had used up all her BB eligibility but had some track and CC left. She ran CC in fall and track this spring so far. She ran a 2:29 for 800...know that's nothing super duper but to switch from BB to track after not running track since HS is pretty impressive.
I am proud to have been a walk on at OU but maybe I could have run for a small NAIA or Div 2 school and actually been able to compete and letter...oh well. My claim to fame which I may have told you 40 or 50 or 2.5 million times was the CC and Distant coach at 4 minute miler from U of Colorado Rick Musgrave told me one fall if he had a team full of guys that ran as hard as I did he could win the Big * CC championship (remember about fall of 1979).
