I assume you're an ex-native then? It's nice to be big in Telluride!
I've always avoided orienteering at 'community woodland' areas like Flatts lane as they're normally shitty and bramble ridden, but the woodland looked quite nice yesterday. Infintletly better than Gizzy woods and those around the Cleveland hills!

Yep they're all pretty Green. Never ran at Boltby, but the whole escarpment isn't the best. Except Westworth. Westworth was/is fantastic, but I don't think Lordy allows any events in there anymore.

How long have you been out of the area for? Everywhere in the UK is more brambelly than it used to be, Sheffield woodland was beautiful 12 years ago, but for the last 6-odd years has become choked. Maybe a reason why I fell run much more than orienteer now.

I come home every summer for 2 months (my kids get 3 months off here for school holidays). I was planner for the Pinchinthorpe meet last summer you were at. You're right about the woods. The Scottish 6 Days was pretty bad as was the meet at Escrick, York. The woods in Texas were pretty bad, but with different vegetation (feather cactus is the worst). If you get the chance to orienteer here Laramie, WY is pretty cool. And if you ever want to race here Telluride Mt. Run and Imogene Pass Run are well worth the visit. You're welcome to stay with us. Been in US since '97. Telluride since August. No idea why it took me so long to get here.
