That's never enjoyable- have you tried running snowshoes or going early enough in the day for it to stop be cold enough to keep your weight?

Are you going to be in Houston soon? My memory is foggy but I think you mentioned something around now.

Ice Bugs were perfect. The post holing was for about 1/2 a mile. It was sunny on the Mesa and softening up. I work in snow shoes. Can't stand them. (Don't know if running versions are any better?)
Be in Houston 8th-14th April. How's thing's? You going to US/CAN team trials or you definitely retiring.....for the time being?

Running snowshoes are similar to normal ones - just lighter and smaller. Not horrible but then again they can't hold you up as much because their smaller. Better than deep post holing hole. Also, I have gotten some serious workouts in my snowshoes where I wouldn't have normally. They're definitely an acquired taste.

I am definitely not doing sprint woc this year. My schedule doesn't support it and I am nowhere near fast enough at short distance.

Things are fine - almost done with my thesis (hopefully). Oh, early April. I thought it was early March for some reason.

That's good you've got your eye on next year still.
