Boo.. at this point I'm wondering if there's a public is private difference. I've seen this for quite a few private schools doing this. My public school is just operating as normal right now.

Public schools have an added layer of government bureaucracy in their decision-making process. Give them time. NY state just announced the same for all state universities and community colleges today. Others will get there. Cornell has an appeal process available for students if staying in Ithaca would be a better choice than heading home.
