Congratulations! So impressed that again you finished the double in such crazy (or such AR) conditions!

:) @abiperk i hope we stay well too! the quote is a reference from this season of Survivor - 2x cancer survivor Ethan is explaining that he's playing again because "This is living!". that really stuck with me to keep seeking out challenging experiences and i thought of it many times out there in the mud.

Super strong work out there! What's the secret to still having brakes at the end?
And yes, those rice snacks at the oasis were the ticket to finishing this event.

OM i didn’t know you were there too!!! awesome job on FINISHING the Double. super hard year. wowza.

the first year we did the double (2017) we had mechanical disc brakes and they were destroyed in the first 50 miles. we kept adjusting them inward but eventually there was no brake pad left. after that race we had to replace a lot of parts anyway so we upgraded to hydraulic disc brakes which are awesome and they self-adjust inward as the brake pad wears. so this year they worked the whole time (also we consciously tried NOT to brake whenever possible to avoid getting grit in the pads.
