at the top waiting for you to return. After ten minutes we imagined a massive massive mistake. I gave up waiting and started my run. Only to also make a massive error on 17 as well. Didn't visualise the contours well.
But good course on a great area, I agree.
Glad you guys enjoyed the courses. We got complaints C3 was too hard, though probably an equal number who enjoyed it...
You always get complaints. C3 is a conundrum. If you made it easier the other half would complain it was too easy. The best solution might be to do what happens in the Bendigo series. Where this is a risk, all the hard courses are a little shorter, and that encourages the more hardy C3 competitors to run C2. Of course, by making it a "series" with league tables and such, you discourage such movement between courses.
Judy did c3 so I got a good look at the map. By too hard did they mean physically. Technically I thought it was great. There were obvious easy ways to cross the big gullies and get in and out of the mining. When I pointed them out to Judy she said she didn't see them or use them. I think the issue here is that most of the complainers are poor navigators and don't see the best route choices. I knew I would struggle with c2 and considered doing c3. If I had done it and it had been any shorts and easier I would have been annoyed. You can't win either way. Thought it was great. Thank James for me. Judy has no complaints either
I'll send you my route. I'd agree i think it was taking people a long time but mainly the finding controls rather than the physicality, but then they were saying it was the physicality. Hard to give something for everyone. I walked most of it, was 8 mins ahead of the next woman and definitely not a perfect run.
If people routinely think C3 is too hard, they should opt for C4. There's a few in my age class that think they can keep doing the same course they have done for years, and the course difficulty should be modified accordingly.
I think a lot of people didn't see the easier routes, which probably meant it was quite hard.
