Part of me wonders whether I've already been exposed and had it. Ellen had a viral ailment of unknown origin back during the winter - doc sent her home with the usual rest/fluids/meds instructions. Mostly characterized by a persistent dry cough. And I had some minor flu-ish symptoms a bit later. But without an antibody testing mechanism you really don't know if it was just seasonal flu or "something else". But the more I read, the more I suspect that this has been circulating in the community for a while and is just now reaching full steam. Eventually we're all going to be exposed one way or another. Just need to stay apart for a while to avoid a surge I guess.

So it's possible that I was exposed when we went to Ansonia. I've had zero symptoms. It's also possible that I've been exposed myriad other ways. I'm not convinced that everyone who is exposed will become infected. In 1918, only about 27% of people got the flu, although I guess the theory is that a lot of people (older people in particular) had resistance because they had earlier been infected with a related but less dangerous strain. And the theory is that nobody has any immunity from previous exposure in this case. So maybe we will all get it eventually.

Also quite plausible that lots of people have already been exposed, been infected and yet remained completely asymptomatic. Lots of plausible ideas, but this one is new so the reality is no one knows anything with any level of certainty...
