So has the bike slowed down as it has got older?

LOST_Richard:
Most likely - I guess that is a project to dump out the record and do and analysis of trends etc.

(I will put it on the list of Covid-19 Projects for when I am very bored!)

You could use Attackpoint. In 2018 your average speed was 21.7kmh. But you have to enter time and distance every time for that to work - in 2019 you don’t have a speed for Cycling (but you do for everything else).

HINT: if you enter a distance for your ride on 21 June 2019, you will get a speed for the whole year (you've already entered distances for every other ride in 2019)

I can't remember what I did yesterday so what chance for nearly a year ago?

Yesterday you went for a run in the park, followed by 9min 52sec of nothing.

HINT: guess.

He seems to have combined his ride and gym time on that day so looks like it'll be 1hr 30mins to ride about 5km.

Are you two Task managing LOST Richard's life or his exercise regime?

By the way tRicky - you are slowing down -
2019 26.2 kmh
2018 26.4 kmh
2017 26.6 kmh
2016 27.3 kmh
2015 all data not entered

LOST_Richard:
And your stats O-ing?
Apr 10, 2020 1:13 AM #
tRicky:
Hey I'm not the one who went through Richard's log looking for the one bike entry that didn't contain a distance!

O-ing, 2016 I used to have a job that involved bike commuting and was probably able to hook onto a few tails on the way to/from work, though by then I wasn't treating commutes as seriously as I used to. I've been doing a lot more recovery rides since then and this year (which is currently also 26.2kmh) I've been throwing in a lot more hill rides and very few interval sessions (which usually average ~30kph) with nothing to train for.

I'll have to throw in a no distance run at some point this year to continue the trend of screwing up my average speed like I've done the previous 12 years so that you can't analyse that in future.

I was just demonstrating how easy it was to look it up

So I did mine too: I'm getting quicker, although I should factor in Perth v Sydney v Canberra as it looks like having a big influence (Sydney was 2010-2018)

Strange considering AP is only 20 years old (and you've only been on it for 13 of those).

Wouldn't necessarily say I'm getting slower, I just do a lot less actual bike specific training over commutes/rides through the hills/whatever. Many of my harder rides in previous years were on the windtrainer (which I've only used twice this year, for shame).

You can enter old data (HINT: Richard can do that too)

tRicky:
There, I fixed up the one MTB entry I had in 2019 with no distance ;-) (was only a 2min ride (estimated) so not hard to put in a made up number).

Running might be a lot harder with every year from 2008-2019 missing at least one entry, most of which would have been warm up/down.

Since I started this thread I thought I should do mine after you showed me it is possible. Only did 2019 and 2018 as a sample and it shows my bike is getting faster on the Wednesday loop which includes the track around Lake Burley Griffen. Average speed increased from 23.9 in 2018 to 24.18 in 2019.

Offending 21st June record amended to Gym as wrongly coded.

As for entering old data, I was not anal about records until I discovered AP, now I am ...

tRicky:
I only entered one event into AP that I did before joining AP and that was a 12hr rogaine that I won that I wanted Tooms to be jealous of (it didn't work).

{edit} Was actually three more events (two bush Os and a MTBO).

By the way tRicky - you are slowing down -
2016 27.3 kmh

I don't know where you got this from. 2016 had a distance missing from one solitary 'road bike' ride when in Portugal and we borrowed some crap road bikes from our accommodation. I've entered an arbitrary distance and ended up 27.1kph for the year.

Might think about fixing up others since I have plenty of time (can't do 100km+ bike rides every day).

I told you I'm doing more hills, especially since 2016.

Excellent. More than 25kmh on a hilly circuit is going really well.
